Zegna Oasis
The Zegna Oasis is a spectacular natural reserve that extends over a surface area of 100 km². Ermenegildo Zegna started to transform the Trivero mountain into a harmonious garden in the thirties, promoting the planting of thousands of pines, rhododendrons and hydrangeas.

The Zegna group created the Zegna Oasis in an attempt to continue the founder’s work with the same commitment towards his natural land. The project developed along the 26 Km of the Zegna panoramic route between Trivero and Rosazza.
The particular natural conformation of the Zegna Oasis and its significant infrastructures guarantee a series of open air sporting activities. In addition to excursions and winter sports, particularly significant is mountain biking, thanks to numerous pathways through the wild territory of the Alta Valsessera.
There is also bungy jumping and hang gliding, horse riding, mountain climbing and summer bob sleighing on the Bielmonte track. The numerous bird hides and panoramic points are excellent locations for bird watching.

The Oropa Sanctuary
The Oropa Sanctuary is around 1,200 metres above sea level and the most important Mariano sanctuary in the Alps.
It is an enchanting location both from a naturalistic and architectural but also religious point of view and since 2005 it has been a part of the Special natural reserve of the Sacro Monte di Oropa.

It is around 15 km from The Place and the road offers suggestive panoramas.

Walks, trekking, alpinism, mountain bike and skiing are amongst the many activities offered by Oropa as well as a vast number of rooms in which to stay. There are also 13 restaurants and trattorie, numerous shops and bars. But tourism is also nature in Oropa: in addition to various excursions, from the easiest to the most demanding that leave the Sanctuary, a Mountain Botanical Garden was recently opened by the WWF.

The Wine Route
From the Viverne lake to Sostegno, passing through Oropa, Biella, Candelo and Masserano, tasting the oenological and gastronomic delicacies of Biella contemplating the most interesting and variegated natural, historical and architectural wonders of this corner of Piedmont.

A curiosity: in 1700 1,250,000 litres of wine were produced in Candelo, a village a few kilometres from Biella. This and other data show how the cultivation of vines and wine production were important activities for the Candelo community. The museum dedicated to winemaking was set up here, part of the ecomuseal project promoted by the Province of Biella, that is proposing to restore the equipment, traditional techniques and vines by creating a vineyard laboratory.

Currently you can visit the first cell, telephoning the Pro Loco of Candelo: Tel. 015/2536728. The Ricetto di Candelo winemaking event, with gastronomic displays concerts and tasting, is held every year in October at “Vinincontro”.
