Walks, trekking, alpinism, mountain bike and skiing are amongst the many activities offered by Oropa as well as a vast number of rooms in which to stay. There are also 13 restaurants and trattorie, numerous shops and bars. But tourism is also nature in Oropa: in addition to various excursions, from the easiest to the most demanding that leave the Sanctuary, a Mountain Botanical Garden was recently opened by the WWF.

The Wine Route
From the Viverne lake to Sostegno, passing through Oropa, Biella, Candelo and Masserano, tasting the oenological and gastronomic delicacies of Biella contemplating the most interesting and variegated natural, historical and architectural wonders of this corner of Piedmont.

A curiosity: in 1700 1,250,000 litres of wine were produced in Candelo, a village a few kilometres from Biella. This and other data show how the cultivation of vines and wine production were important activities for the Candelo community. The museum dedicated to winemaking was set up here, part of the ecomuseal project promoted by the Province of Biella, that is proposing to restore the equipment, traditional techniques and vines by creating a vineyard laboratory.
Currently you can visit the first cell, telephoning the Pro Loco of Candelo: Tel. 015/2536728. The Ricetto di Candelo winemaking event, with gastronomic displays concerts and tasting, is held every year in October at “Vinincontro”.
